Heritage Square is the ideal historical outdoor wedding venue in the Phoenix metropolitan area. This venue offers many scenic areas: the Rosson House, an event pavilion, the Science Museum, and a scenic like green house.

If you are planning a natural themed wedding I would suggest choosing an outdoor wedding venue with lots of plants like Heritage Square. To achieve this natural look I would also suggest having lots of flowers and wooden furniture.

Everything designed had a natural appeal. The DIY name cards were cards pinned into red Snow White apples and placed on a treasure chest for display.

“These reception tables were purposefully set with: natural linens, bohemian tribal patterned plates with jewel tones, gold plated glassware, a wooden table runner, flatware with wooden stems, jeweled toned votives and an abundance of flowers and greenery.”

For contrast with the natural wooden elements these details brought characteristic to the sweetheart table: the upholstered red chairs and the cow skull at the head of the table.

The bride’s bouquet had: burgundy Peonies, Peruvian Lilies, Carnations, Coxcomb and green plants. The green plant area is also “…. lovingly referred to as the ‘enchanted jungle’.

Lighthouse Flowers did a fantastic job tying the wine bar at The Duke with the reception colors. ”The colors used in the flowers were deep reds like maroon and burgundy, with lots of greenery.”

The Duke Truck provided the cocktail goodies: wine, cheese, nuts and sliced meats.

“The cake was a deconstructed “naked cake”. Instead of opting for the traditional three tiered cake with many embellishments, the tiers each stood on their own with a very light buttercream coating. The tiers were displayed on wooden trunks placed atop gold cake stands.”

“If you are planning for a Bohemian wedding an easy DIY would be to have dreams catchers as place cards. These could be pinned onto a large board according to table numbers, and double as wedding favors!”

The Rosson House is a restored 1895 Queen Anne Victorian home located in the downtown Phoenix area.

I will end this post with a picture at a historical scene. Your wedding will go down in history and will be a record of your family tree. It is my honor as a wedding photographer to document the beginning of you and your spouse becoming a family!
