My Arizona Communities

We were made to be know others and to be known in our circles of safe communities. It was during my years of being actively involved with Arizona State University Cru (ASU Cru) that I learned this concept: “We were created to know and be known”. It’s the whole purpose of life…to love. I am so thankful I learned this principle and that I have invested my time and energy to a few communities in Arizona:

  1. Redemption Tempe Church
  2. Kokes RC: Small Group
  3. Free Range Crossfit
  4. Phoenix Pug

In those communities it’s a gift to know those people’s individuals stories. Communities happen…

…over the course of sharing homemade meals together.

….in the difficult hard times when we share our struggles or listen to where that person is at in the midst of heartache. We listen and let them know it’s okay to not be okay…really sitting in the realities of life.

… when we serve one another…with projects and life’s transitions.

…enjoying common interests and encouraging one another in our strengths.

The whole point of life is to love others and it’s in these communities where life happens.

I will leave you with this inspiring quote by Timothy Keller:

“To be loved but not known is comforting but superficial. To be known and not loved is our greatest fear. But to be fully known and truly loved is, well, a lot like being loved by God. It is what we need more than anything. It liberates us from pretense, humbles us out of our self-righteousness, and fortifies us for any difficulty life can throw at us.”

Which communities are you invested in?
