Salt River Engagement : Joshua + Jennifer

It was Memorial Day weekend, Joshua had all the details planned out on how he was going to asked Jennifer to be his wife. The two were going to spend the weekend up in Payson, Northern Arizona, with his family in a cabin. Jennifer knew Joshua had bought the ring so with that in mind she was especially stylish and perfectly manicured for that engagement ring.

It was May 22, 2015. The two were to meet at Joshua’s home at 5pm and then drive up North together. That same day, Jennifer needed to get a new social security card at the DMV and of course, the wait there was a magnitude. It was around 7:30pm when Jennifer arrived at his house. Joshua had told her to meet him on the patio so they could wait out rush hour traffic. When Jennifer arrived she recounted her whole DMV experience. It was in mid-sentence that Joshua interjected a question. (Background story: The two leading up to this day had been reading the Fellowship of the Rings, a Lord of the Rings book together. ) Joshua then asked her to explain what was going on in the story. Jennifer then opened the book to explain what they had read thus far and as she did she saw a glimmer of something shiny hidden within the very words of Lord of the Rings… her engagement ring. Joshua then got down on his knee and asked Jennifer, “Will you marry me?” Jennifer for her response took the ring and sealed her yes with a kiss. To document their courtship and first date we started their engagement session at a local Mesa neighborhood park, Red Rock. This park holds so many memories for the two. At Red Rock Park Joshua and Jennifer would enjoy picnics, reading to each other, playing soccer, star gazing and watching Netflix.

The two are smitten with one another and enjoy the simple moments of life. Joshua, a generous man, is growing his hair out to donate. He wears his man bun with style!

Joshua loves that he is marrying not only the most beautiful person in the world, but his best friend.

Joshua plays for an indoor soccer league and Jennifer is his biggest cheerleader!

Jennifer is a free spirit and enjoys exploring the wilderness barefoot! She’s a natural beauty!

After an outfit change we ventured to Granite Reef on the Salt River at sunset. In the everyday, Joshua cares, leads and encourages Jennifer in her walk with God…the ultimate foundation to a marriage!

Joshua and Jennifer are huge Harry Potter fans! As a token of Joshua proposing to Jennifer he gifted her the Golden Snitch with the words, “Will you marry me?”.

The Arizona light was perfect for engagement photos…the Salt River is North of Phoenix and it always has dreamy golden light!

The two are going through a lot of milestones together: graduating from Arizona State University, buying their first home and entering their careers. The essence of this season of transition, the two are walking it together as a team.

The sunset was filled with a spectacular view and pastel horizon.

We ended their engagement session with a playful time of silly string, tutu’s and a stunning gorgeous sunset!
