Lemon Orchard Spring Arizonian Wedding Featured on Glamour & Grace

A freshly squeezed lemon has such a clean, zesty, and a touch of sour to make your lips pucker and your face squeeze only for a moment. Their vibrant yellow and refreshing taste has all the properties of Spring. Spring time weddings exhale new life, freshly created colors, and full gardenia smelling blooms. Hearts become alive again, coming out from the winter cozies. It is such a beautiful time of year to celebrate the blossoming seeds of marriage.

For Justin and Allison, their wedding day was just that. It was sweet and simple with all of their love story on display for all to see. We decided it would be fun for you as our reader to get an inside look at our couple’s big day while we celebrate their wedding feature.

Why did you choose your wedding venue?

We chose a venue that is located near Camelback, Arizona. We loved having the freedom to choose our own vendors and wanted to take advantage of the outside space with all the beautiful AZ surroundings.

 

What was the vision for your wedding?

We wanted navy blues, mustard yellows, with white natural Garden florals to fit our style and color scheme. We envisioned simplistic table arrangements creating a semiformal atmosphere for guests to feel comfortable.

Describe the flowers used for floral arrangements:

I’ve grown quite fond of flowers in the process of wedding planning. I decided that I’d be qualified to create the bridesmaid’s bouquets as an activity with the bridesmaids and if they looked good I might be onto something. Yellow Ranuculus, yellow billy ball, and eucalyptus are my favorite elements but they also included white and ivory roses, yellow button poms, snapdragons, and alstormeria.

This flower girl is as light-hearted as they come. She whispers to the bride words that make your heart melt.

A first look with her first love. What an honor is was to witness a brave military father embrace his daughter before he gives her away.

The first look between the couple. They had such an intimate moment that their raw emotion came pouring out. Love all the benefits first looks gift a couple on their wedding day!

Describe the ceremony:

As we stood on the aisle, we took our place beneath a gorgeous floral arch that was hand made by my brother-in-law (Robbie Cronin) and decorated beautifully by Cynthia. What made it the most special to us was having all of our friends and family in from out of town to stand by us, the exchanging of our vows, and solidifying our marriage as a representation of putting the gospel on display because that is what God intended it for.

It was a beauty to witness both sets of their parents praying over their lifetime of marriage to come.

Their love in marriage honors the way God intended it to be and they radiate health and vibrancy because of Him.

Love is about holding on, tighter and tighter, closer and closer, through the valleys and through the mountain tops.

A fun and bright daytime reception for everyone to enjoy.

Describe the reception:

The reception was special because we had all of our family and friends in one state and in one place. People came all over the continent (we had a few Canadians in attendance) to spend the day with us. I was very excited about the table numbers and florals since I made the bridesmaid’s bouquets with the help of the bridesmaids. We all worked hard on these details together.

Let’s get to the yummy stuff, tell us about your cake. 

We were so excited about the cake. It is quite a treat and was beautiful. We enjoyed great eats and even better company. Flowers were laid on a wooden box (centerpieces) with yellow roses and lilies.

What was the inspiration of your wedding cake?

The flavor of the main cake was carrot because it is our absolute favorite. A silly thing to agree on but we loved it. A simple and yummy cake was the rest of the inspiration as we totally trust the work of the ladies at Ruze Cake House! We talked to them about a whispy texture, ombre greys, with amazingly local ingredients. We heard their hard working chickens in the backyard when we had our tasting. The main cake was 3 tiers and two, 2-tier cakes. We were amazed by the how the cakes turned out.

What advice would you give to a couple planning their wedding? 

If planning your own wedding, have a very specific timeline of deadlines for you and your future hubby. I did not stick to my clear outline which caused a little more stress than necessary, but in the end, I think we learned a lot about each other as we figured out how to tackle tasks together. Mostly, enjoy the process. It is crazy but it might also be the biggest party you ever throw so have fun and choose your big ticket items to splurge on wisely.
