Are you planning an Arizona Spring or Summer wedding? If so, these summer wedding tips for your bridal party and fiancé are the perfect resource for you!

In general the highest Spring wedding season in Arizona is from March through April. In the past few years those two months have been warmer than usual causing brides to feel like they are having a summer wedding. Any weddings from May-September in Arizona are a summer wedding…temperatures most likely in the triple digits.

On average many wedding timelines are about eight hours with an evening reception which puts your timeline from around 2-10pm. The hottest part of the day is around 4pm, around the same time as your individual (bride and groom), couple, bridal party and family portraits. Even if your wedding ceremony and reception are held inside, that is at least 2 hours of consecutive minutes of being in the sun.

With all these ideas in mind here are some Arizona summer tips to consider when planning your wedding to enjoy a comfortable joyous day:

1 ) Purchase a wedding dress that is made of lighter material and that is breathable. Here are some recommended light materials: cotton, chiffon, crepe or voile. Also, select an open backed vest for your groom/groomsmen attire.

The ground and pavement are scorching hot in Arizona’s summers. People literally can baked cookies or fry eggs for a reason.

3) For your wedding colors select a light color, darker hues love to absorb the heat. Also consider this with your groom and groomsmen attire, tan, light grey, and light blue are great summer options.

4) The day before and after your wedding day drink at least a gallon water. The morning of the wedding day, drink at least a half-a gallon. Have your Maid-of-Honor be in charge of having water on hand for you during the day.

5) Before putting on your wedding dress lather a high SPF sunscreen. About 1-2 hours later have your Maid-of-Honor reapply sunscreen with the misting kind of sunscreen. This same tip applies to the rest of your bridal party. Misting sunscreen is a quick way to apply sunscreen between portraits.

6) While planning your wedding day timeline make sure to note when your bridal party and you will be having a healthy lunch to fuel your day. I recommend eating your lunch before your photographer arrives and your Maid-of-Honor carrying power bars for snacks throughout the day. The sun takes a lot of energy so you need to be fueled with food.

7) When planning an Arizona summer wedding, consider if the venue has shade. Some Arizona wedding venues are completely in the open desert with no shade whatsoever so having breaks in the shade during portraits is not an option. In either case, have parasols for your bridesmaids and you to have shade. In addition, battery operated fans are a gem for bridal party and you on the summer day.

8) Now, imagine adding an unexpected twist to your summer celebration with a refreshing Foam Party Services in Wayne, PA. As the festivities unfold beneath the Arizona sun, introducing a foam-filled extravaganza could be the perfect antidote to the heat. Picture your guests delighting in the playful froth, creating unforgettable memories amidst the bubbles. With Foam Party Services, you can elevate your wedding to new heights of fun and excitement, offering a unique experience that will leave everyone talking long after the last bubble has popped.

If you can, have your ceremony in a shady location on the venue. If there is no shade available rent a large white covered tent. Misters are the perfect accessory to add to these white tents. Both of these factors will eliminate guests chairs being hot, the sun in their face and give you the option of taking portraits around your ceremony location.

The sun causes sweat which causes your hair to stick to your face and neck if your hair is down.

10) If you’re hoping to avoid the heat, I recommend choosing to have a 90 minute cocktail hour. In that time frame you could choose to do your bridal party and more of your couple portraits when the sun is lower in the sky.
